I was disgusted with losing Michigan senatorial primary candidate Haley Stevens's betrayal of everything Democrats are supposed to stand for, in endorsing Trump sycophant Mike Rogers against Abdul El Sayed. And I looked with interest at the reactions of Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, all of whom represent a more Centrist position in the Democratic Party and who have expressed support not just for Israel as a nation but its authoritarian and aggressive government. I don't think this is really even the issue, which has more to do with Stevens's personal political ambitions. But I was at least somewhat heartened to see this:
"[Pelosi] said on social media that El-Sayed “must win,” and that Stevens “has chosen to dangerously betray Michigan families’ healthcare, freedoms and future with her horrific endorsement of Mike Rogers.” That stands out because Pelosi had endorsed Stevens in the primary. Schumer likewise called it a “despicable betrayal” and said Senate Democrats were united behind El-Sayed. Stevens’ chief of staff and other staffers resigned over the endorsement."
And, from the Detroit News:
Jeffries condemned the move, stating, “Haley Stevens made a terrible decision, blindsided everyone and isolated herself from the House Democratic caucus”.
