Factoid for you ... life is often weirder than you imagine

These so-called glass sponges may be the oldest living individual organisms. Some are estimated to be over 10,000 years old. They construct their bodies out of silica spicules.... essentially glass. Common in frigid basins, such as off the coast of British Columbia.
