Trump v. Illinois establishes that the president can't just make shit up about justifying the use of the National Guard for BS reasons under the Insurrection Act. But it also tells us something really important: push to shove, we may sometimes be able to count on Barrett, Roberts and Kavenaugh to not be totally craven in their sycophancy to Trump. Not always, but sometimes. Alito, Gorsuch and Thomas, however, can be written off: they are complete ideologues who will support the dictator (almost) every time.
